After reading Joy's review i contacted her in order to discuss her comments. As with all my clients i always state that if any problems occur once a job is finished which turn out to be down to me, i will always go back & rectify them free of charge. Therefore i arranged to have a look at the job again. In the 4 years since the job there have been problems with damp on the window wall & Joy was under the impression that not only had i skimmed the wall but that i had rendered it too. This was not the case. I was not asked to render as there was already perfectly good render on the walls. Nevertheless in order to help out, i offered to hack off & re-render the wall where necessary & this showed that the walls underneath were perfectly dry & the render was doing its job. The damp was therefore being caused by internal condensation due to the windows being metal framed, causing high volumes of water which have been running down the glass over the years. I am currently in the process of re-rendering the wall with a waterproof render. However i have stressed to Joy that there is no guarantee that the damp will not return in a few years time unless she tackkles the underlying problem of the windows. I am disappointed that Joy did not feel able to contact me personally in the first instance to resolve this & instead felt the need to post this inaccurate review. However, the issue is now resolved & Joy has agreed to retract her comments.
