I was looking for a builder to carry out a complete bathroom installation service to include tilling, plumbing and electrics to refurbish my bathroom in my flat in West London. Alfred Ramsay initial consultation gave me good advice on how to make the most of my small bathroom and he also gave me advice on the best place to buy the materials needed for the job. His quote for the job was also reasonable compared to other building contractors. Whilst undertaking the work his team were punctual, efficient and reliable and they managed to complete the work within the said period. Overall I am very happy with the standard of work and the finish and would be happy to recommend Alfred Ramsay to others.

Alfred Ramsey Building Services has carried out a number of projects for me since 2005. These were as follows: • Attending to a leak to a central heating pipe, and complete plastering a redecoration of the ceiling. • Complete installation of a new central heating boiler system, provision of a new kitchen, shower , retiling of floors and walls to the kitchen and bathroom. Replastering of walls to my buy to let property.. • Currently I have commissioned them to retile my kitchen, replaster walls to the kitchen, install new lights, repaint the kitchen, replace a rainwater downpipe,remove a washhand basin and make good the decorations, redecorate old airing cupboard doors and build new shelves. Having set clear deadlines, I can confirm that the works have been completed expeditiously. The company attends to detail well, with problems and obstacles often identified in advance. Standard of finish is good particularly with respect to tiling and plastering. Estimates are adhered to, particularly in relation to the work to my flats. Clearly there are unforeseen works on some occasions, where extra over costs are charged.

Alfred Ramsay undertook complete renovation of our double storey extended semi and turned it into a very contemporary home in spring 2008. He worked with incredible speed and tenacity and supervised the installation of a new boiler, new electrics, new bathrooms and kitchen, new wood floors and carpet, removal of walls and plastering and painting throughout the entire property. In hindsight, we feel that work such as the electrics and heating should have been done by individual specialists rather than through the building company. Nonetheless, they worked tirelessly and independently and without him we could never have completed the work in such a short time (10 weeks) within budget. We are generally happy with the overall result, although if you are looking for a top quality finish or if attention to detail is your thing then we recommend you look elsewhere. If you are looking to have work done quickly at a good price then Alfred is your man.

Alfred Ramsey building services recently undertook a structural repair job in the roof of our 2-bedroom terrace. The primary objective of the job was to replace the extant unsupported purloins with four newer and stronger timbers to tie the adjacent walls together. In addition Alfred and his team installed 8 metal braces, strengthened the ceiling joists, replaced several rotten rafters and ridge board, cemented and plastered the walls and added a velux window. The job was very complex but Alfred and his team delivered precisely the directions from our structural engineer’s plan without any problems. The team worked quickly and efficiently and the job was completed in a short period of time. My partner and I are both very pleased with the end result and have no hesitation in recommending him to others

It is a distinct pleasure to recommend to you Alfred Ramsay Building Services. They completed the full refurbishment of my 2 bedroom 5th floor flat. The scope of works included gutting the entire flat, rewiring it, installing a new heating system, fitting a new bathroom and kitchen and plastering, decorating and tiling all walls, floors and ceilings. They had to work on an incredibly tight budget which they have managed well. Access to the flat was obviously difficult but they managed to get everything in and out of the building in a clean and tidy way without obstructing the communal areas. The flat was unoccupied whilst the works were carried out but even though it was always kept clean. Alfred Ramsay personally looked after everything and managed the project himself. All I had to do was to sit back and choose the finishes. The standard of workmanship was also very good. I could continue on with more glowing accounts, but will instead simply say that I really do think they did a great job. Alfred Ramsay Building Services were used to install a brand new bathroom suite, kitchen units and boiler, and redecorate my 1 bedroom flat which I proposed to let. Works were completed to excellent standard . I was particularly pleased with the standard of tiling to the floors and walls of the bathroom and kitchen. On my unannounced visits, there were always operatives working on the property. The work was completed expeditiously. The target timescale was 5 weeks. The contractor completed the works in 2 weeks, which was vital for me to ensure a the flat was let as soon as possible. There were a few unforeseen works which meant that the build price was just above the original budget price. Originally it was not planned to replace the boiler. Cracks to the plaster in the bedroom were attended to, and charged as a minor extra. The contractor took a problem solving approach to the works. The team was also considerate to neighbours, advising them of impending building works. The flat was left spic and span, with no evidence of dust or debris. Alfred Ramsay carried out a complete renovation of my one bedroom flat in February, doing everything from complete re-wiring, plumbing and floor sanding/varnishing to kitchen and bathroom installation, cabinet building and painting. There was not a single inch of the flat that he did not renovate in one way or another. He is very passionate about his work and worked long hours with a large team to ensure the completion of the job as quick as possible - in all it took about 5 weeks which was more than reasonable. We asked Alfred to do several aspects of work on our one bedroom flat. This included completely new bathroom including plumbing, plastering, tiling and suite, preparation of surfaces, painting and carpentry jobs. Alfred was always focussed on the job and came up with numerous suggestions for improvement. The work was always carried out to a very good standard and any issues dealt with in a friendly and professional manner. I asked Alfred Ramsay to undertake some work for me in my bathroom,ensuite,kitchen and hallway. The work entailed laying tiles in the bathroom and ensuite, locating a leak in the ensuite, laying tiles in the kitchen and laying cedar panels in the hallway. They undertook the job and met the timetable for completion that I required and met the budget they quoted. I was very happy with the service they provided and would use them again.
