  • Fitted Wardrobes
I have used Simon at Form Creations for 3 different jobs in a previous house, and recently used him again for some fitted wardrobes in my current house. He is very professional and easy to deal with. He produces useful drawings ahead of the work commencing, so you know what you are going to get. The finished product is also great, and the attention to detail is very high. Simon and his team are also very neat and tidy when working. Highly recommended.

  • Wardrobes and alcove units
Simon and the team installed two alcove units with floating shelves and some fitted wardrobes for us. We weren't looking for the cheapest quote however we were looking for excellent quality - which has been delivered. Simon was very patient with us (we made quite a few last minute changes), provided lots of examples of similar work to give us ideas, kept in contact and was very professional. The fitting was exemplary, everything left clean and tidy, walls made good where old fittings were removed, arrived on time and finished the work to our very exacting standards. We'll be inviting Simon back to quote for our study.

  • Two tall alcove wardrobes
We're very happy with the wardrobes - not only are they just what we were after in terms of look and utilising the limited space but they seem expertly made and built to last for years. Hence 10 out of 10 for both standard of work and value for money and I should add that the guys offered to remove the existing shelving and rails for no extra cost and also patched up (v well) some of the wall that broke away in the process (not their fault, it's a crumbling victorian property). Customer Service dropped a point only after it seemed that the wrong measurements had been taken initially and I was asked to submit my own measurements. I wasn't totally happy doing this given the amount of work involved based on the measurements. To their credit (and the reason the mark is still a 9), when we spoke to Gerald (Simon's colleague) he immediately said that although Simon was unavailable, he could come round to measure and he did so very promptly. Also, I was really impressed with the way both Simon and Gerald worked on installing the wardrobes - tirelessly and amazingly efficiently whilst taking good care of the room with dust sheets and leaving it clean. I felt very safe and confident in leaving them to it whilst I went out. We're now really enjoying using the wardrobes and I'm planning on going back to Form Creations in a couple of months to get living room alcove cabinets and shelving. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them.

Form Creations is a highly professional company which I would not hesitate to recommend. Simon was very helpful in fitting in with my dates and times and his price was extremely competitive. He advised on the design of the shelving units and by making cupboards below to hide the bed they became an effective room divider in the studio flat. His work is of the highest quality, with great attention to detail and the installation was quick and clean. A brilliant company!

  • Fantastic new wadrobes
Form Creations gave an excellent service from beginning to end. Simon came round promptly upon request to evaluate our job and gave great advice on potential specification followed by a very quick estimate of cost by the following morning. We required two old alcove wardrobes to be removed and replaced with new units together with the transformation of an old wardrobe into a toy cupboard for my daughter. All works were completed professionally and to a very high standard, within a couple of days. Form Creations were very professional, produced two beautiful, contemporary wadrobes for me and a great storage space for my little girl. All work was completed with the minimum impact on the rest of the house, and Simon and his colleague tidied up after themselves promptly throughout the job. The cost of the job was competitive (I received three quotes for this work and Form Creations was the cheapest). I would happily recommend this profession firm.

  • Alcove Units
We hired simon to fit alcove units in our sitting room, generally a standard sort of thing, either side of chimney breast. We had specific needs from each unit, the left one had to house a simple multimedia set up including TV, Sky box, PC, speakers etc with books above, holes cut for wires and plugs all over the cabinet carcass while the other was more traditional - storage on the bottom books on the top. So our idea was not a standard fit by any means. We thought it was impossible to fit everything in but Simon came up with a couple of solutions, tweaking drawings to compensate as he went. We we're also very specific about little finishing details, the plinth, the doors, the frilly bit on top - seemingly none of which were a problem to find or fit within the design. Overall, extremely happy with the final result, looks fantastic, solid as the house itself and functional too. So, why only 9/10 for standard of work? Well 2 of the cabinet shelves we're initially cut to the wrong size and there was one other minor issue with shelf mounts - Having said that, Simon did not hesitate to rectify the problem and was back at the house within 48 hrs with replacements and amends. So in 'marks out of 10' terms the very small amount lost what is lost in standard of work was gained in customer service. Why 8/10 for value? Well I'm a bit of a tight a*se for starters, and I feel if I didn't live in London this would have cost me less, whether that constitutes poor value for money I'll let you decide. Having said that, my guess is that I'll still be looking at these shelves in 15 years and saying that was good value. Top job many thanks, we'll be calling again i'm sure.

  • Double-height wardrobes, alcove cupboards, bookcases, home-office storage cupboards...
Simon completed several jobs for us at the end of last year: double-height floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with spring-loaded top rails so that they can be raised and lowered easily; bedroom alcove cupboards and shelving (x2); bookcase on upper landing; office cupboards to contain filing cabinets and storage boxes; office bookcases, built at an angle to slope under the eaves of the house; and a radiator case for the hall. We are delighted with all the work. Simon offered advice on how best to make use of all the available space - one of our main priorities - and understood immediately what we were trying to achieve, and produced helpful scale drawings before we started. All dates and schedules arranged were stuck to - very important for us as my wife was expecting a baby, so we could really afford there to be any delays! The work itself was carried out even faster than Simon had already promised: the cutting of the wood is done at Simon's impressive workshop (which he was happy for me to visit), and it is also painted there, so there is minimal disruption and the actual fitting is done extremely quickly. Our double-height wardrobes and alcove cupboards and shelving (x2) were fitted in 2 1/2 days! Simon and his colleague Gerald were always punctual, and left everything very tidy at the end of each day. The quality of the fitting and the finish is first rate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to friends and family - in fact have already done so - and will use Form Creations again in the future for any further jobs. From design to finish on all the projects, we couldn't be happier. We had several quotes, and taking into consideration the fact the cupboards etc are fitted already painted, it was an easy decision to choose Form Creations.

  • Shelving and bespoke fitted sideboard
In August, Simon and his team built a couple of things for me. the first was a series of 6 floating shelves, fitted in an L-shape around an alcove. The second was a bespoke unit, which comprised 3 sub-units, standard shelving, a surround to a radiator and a corner unit for records/crockery. Simon came to assess the site in advance of quoting for the work, and provided a scale drawing for approval in advance of commiting to price and delivery. He then prepped both the units in advance in his workshop, and he and a colleague fitted both the shelves and sideboard over the course of a day (~8 hours). The fitting went extremely well. Both Simon and his colleague were extremely professional, attentive both to the job, the quality of the finish and also to the state they left my house in (which was extremely tidy). I was very happy with the work and with the service Simon provided. His workmanship is of the highest quality and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others. I will be using him again during 2011.

I am so pleased with the work that Simon did and would highly recommend him. He paid attention to detail all along the process from his first visit to quote for the job to the completion of the project. The materials and fittings are all of extremely high quality and I love the 'self closing' draws. I had two quotes for the job, one from Simon and one from a 'high street supplier'. Both quotes were virtually the same but with Simon I got exactly the look I wanted and full carcases to all the units rather than opening the door and seeing a painted wall!

  • Fitted wardrobes
Super job, with minimal disruption and exactly what I wanted! I spent many many months crawling websites and going through friends' recommendations to try and find someone who could build me a modern and minimal-style fitted wardrobe and give me some inspiration on design. I came across the Form Creations website, really liked the look of what they had done and after meeting Simon decided to go with them. They did a fantastic job and I was so impressed with their professionalism - I had minimal involvement beyond the initial design and after building the frames in their workshops they fitted them within 2-3 days to a very high spec. Simon was also very patient with changes I made along the way and helpful in making suggestions on what might and might not work. The wardrobes turned out better than I could ever have hoped and I will definitely use Simon and the team again. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for similar work - a trustworthy, professional and high-quality outfit, a rare find indeed in London!!

  • Disappointing Wardrobes
Simon was hired to refit a wardrobe in an existing frame. The internal work was good and the doors were to a reasonable standard. However, Simon had real difficulty in attaching the doors to the existing frame. Simon was of the opinion that the frame was wonky however a second review by an independent carpenter (who has now been hired to fix the problem) suggested that the frame was in fact straight. What really disappointed us was that Simon left our property knowing that he had done sub-standard work and that we would not be happy with the end product. At no stage did he contact us when he was fitting the doors to say that he had a potential problem and put forward solutions. His attitude when we questioned his work was disappointing and he could see nothing wrong in what he had done. I ended up paying Simon the full amount solely so I could draw a line under the sand and move on. I am not one who normally complains but in this instance both the end product and Simon’s attitude were unprofessional.

Simon Hall of Form Creations Ltd replies:

It is unfortunate in this case that we have not met Bens expectations and I am sorry to have an unhappy customer. With respect to this particular project, from the outset when we are working with existing joinery we always make the client fully aware that the finished product can only be as good as the existing joinery will allow, Bens job was no exception to this rule and he was informed of this before the job began. Upon completing the job Ben made me aware of his grievances and withheld £600 from the balance. I then informed him the framework was not straight and this was the reason in the discrepancy between our doors, which had been hung straight and level, and the existing framework. I was very pleased with the rest of the work and fully believe it had been carried out to our usual high standard. I offered on several occasions to come over and recheck the frame and explain how the problem arose and offer ways in which to fix the frame. Ben decided he did not want to take this offer and to get another joiner to check the frame to which I mentioned I would like to attend this meeting to which he also declined. Although the other joiner did indeed confirm the frame was not square (although Ben has failed to mention this in his review), Ben decided to make me two further offers of settlement, that of retaining £440 then £270. These settlements could not be agreed until I could come over and recheck the frame and discuss the problem in person. At no time was Ben asked for full payment until he was completely satisfied with the work we carried out for him, but at this junction he decided to settle the bill in full, and seems to have taken out his frustrations by means of leaving a bad review. We take our customer satisfaction and reputation very seriously, if a customer is not happy with the work we carry out then it is vital we take steps to make sure the matter is resolved efficiently and responsibly. This is always best done stood in front of the offending article rather than via email. If a customer is not happy with our work we would not ask for full payment until the matter is resolved. I hope this rather unfortunate outcome and review will not put off future valued customers.
  • Built in shelves with open end
We commissioned Form Creations to build some shelves to replicate existing shelves on the opposite wall. As they were made from MDF, we expressed our concerns about the MDF bowing under the weight of the books but Simon explained in detail how they construct each shelf with hidden reinforcements and so they won't bow. Simon sent us drawings of the shelves beforehand so that we could check it looked right and when we asked for adjustments to be made, it was no bother for him. I liked his attention to detail. The shelves are floor to ceiling and cover the width of the whole wall. Neil and Simon were thorough in covering up anything that might get damaged/dirty and used their own vacuum cleaner to clean up after they had finished. We are so pleased with the shelves and the workmanship that went into them. Value for money? To be honest - theirs was the only quote we got and as I liked Simon's attitude we decided to use them and didn't bother shopping around for alternative quotes. Highly recommended.
