The Mercy Dash

I was called out to look at a leaking toilet in Brixton, south London. It was a 7.15am visit. I came across solid traffic on Brixton hill. After sitting in it for 10 minutes I decided to take a few back roads to get to my destination.

I arrived with 5 minutes to spare as my customer had to leave for work at 7.30am. I diagnosed and fixed the leak and arranged another visit to replace a broken push button flush. Time had moved on and my customer was running late. I offered a lift to Brixton tube station. It was taken.

The 'Glass Shelves'

I was asked to fit glass shelves in a space that was a square wall at one end and a concrete pillar at the other. It was decided that the 8mm glass would be cut to skirt neatly around the pillar. Straight bar shelf brackets were used to keep a minimal look.  Bespoke 8mm glass shelves cut to fit concrete pillar.

The Phil&Teds

Now this was a first. I was booked in on Friday 2nd May to put together a Phil&Teds inline buggy (pushchair).

It was a pretty sturdy thing, not bad I'd say.

The butchers block

This was a satisfying project. I was asked to revive a tired looking butchers block island work surface. I removed it from the units below and set it up outside for sanding. I raised the grain with a wipe down of white spirits and got to work. Using 4 different grades of paper I sanded down to new wood and a smooth finish. After carefully removing all the dust with a tack cloth I applied 3 coats of raw linseed oil with over night drying/absorbtion between each.

The oil really brought the grain back to life and my customers were very happy. Job done..!

1st problem solved

I did my first 'promlem solved' job on Friday 25th. Max called me because he had a leaky basin. At the job I found some very dodgy pipe work and two poorly fitted speedfit connecters. I replaced the connecters and pipe to provide max with a leak free water supply..

The light switches

I recently completed replacing 54 white plastic electrical sockets and light switches to flush fitting brushed nickel and primed white plates. 1&2 gang sockets, fused switches,1&2 way 1 gang light switches, intermediate light switches, 2 gang dimmer plates, BT plates, fan isolator switches and probably some I've forgotten.

The job went very well and the client was pleased with the new look.
