  • Warning - do not use All Seasons, do not trust Drusilla
We were extremely unhappy with the way the company (specifically Drusilla) dealt with us. Our complaints are: 1/ Attempts were made to double charge us for work 2/ Lies were told 3/ Key (discussed) work was left out of the quote 4/ Work was sloppy and even when photos were sent to prove this, it was not corrected 5/ We have lost a beautiful and mature wisteria which died after All Seasons replanted it 6/ They have broken their promise to replace the wisteria To explain all the above points properly; All Seasons charges a great deal of money for any work they carry out so one would expect a high standard of finish and excellent level of service. We found neither. I gave Drusilla our budget, but Drusilla did not try to keep within this. I made several suggestions ways to save money, but found hidden costs creeping in. For example, on several occasions Drusilla and I discussed painting the garden walls and how this would transform the look of the garden (after they had been rendered). In our quote there was a price for "walls" which I assumed included the painting, since the quote seemed to be comprehensive to everything discussed. However after the rendering had been done when I mentioned the painting I was told this would cost extra. My husband and I decided to use a handyman to do this since we were so annoyed and did not want to give the All Seasons more money. We also at this point decided to lay the lawn ourselves since we felt that almost a grand to lay a postage sized lawn to be expensive. After Drusilla did not return a call to me I told the workmen our decision to lay the lawn ourselves. That weekend when we were away Drusilla texted my mobile saying that we would only save £60 on the cost of the lawn since the work of preparing the area for the lawn had already been carried out. We queried this since we were separately paying £2,000 for excavation work which was described as levelling the area level. All this was theoretical since when we returned from our weekend we found the excavation work not even completed so we had been lied to by Drusilla. We had been lied to about the excavation work having finished, and also Drusilla had lied when she had said that we would only save £60 on the cost of the lawn. Clearly she really did not want to loose the money for laying the lawn so lied to us to make us think we had no choice but to pay the money regardless. After the work was finished we noticed several places where the rendering on our small garden walls did not go to the bottom of the wall and looked terrible. We felt that since we paid a great deal for rendering (without painting) this was unacceptable. However since we had already paid our bill Drusilla refused to come and look at the walls. We emailed photos and she still refused to correct this work. Lastly we had a beautiful and mature wisteria which wrapped around the whole back of our house. Due to the excavation work this had to be moved and replanted. This looked liked it damaged that plant (the work took place in May 2008) and Drusilla came and looked at the plant and it was cut back significantly to see if this would aid it's recovery. Drusilla promised that if the wisteria died she would replace it. The test came this year, it is now March and if the wisteria was to show signs of recovery it would be doing so, but it is completely and obviously dead. This is very distressing and our garden looses a great deal of it's beauty. However on contacting Drusilla at All Seasons she is refusing to honour her promise to replace the wisteria saying that 11 months later anything could be responsible for it's death. Her promise to replace it had not been given with a time limit and it is common sense to wait till spring since no recovery would have been witnessed till now. I have many other small complaints regarding Drusilla and they way she handled our work, but it would take too long to list them all.
