We wanted to update our house so I asked him to take up the carpet on the stairs and then sand and paint the stairs white. I also wanted a large double room to be revamped, as well as the bathroom with not just a bit of paint but also wallpaper. This was also applied to our hallway. He did all the work whilst we were on holiday and when we came back it was a big and happy change.
I would totally recommend Finbarr to anyone. Why? simple. He is a trustworthy, hard working, dedicated and most importantly gets the job done in time and with no hassle. His prices for his work are also very fair. I would and will hire him again!

He finished much quicker than I anticipated the work would take and the job was done to perfection. Reviewed by Tom Parker on November 7, 2011 Finbarr Wall Finbarr was excellent - both in terms of his wit and his work. He's as much a companion as he is a craftsman. He organised everything: the scaffolding, Joe who pointed the entire 35 foot high back wall, Kevin who did the woodwork, converting pre-existent French windows into double-glazed units, and the man himself who painted it all. The timing was excellently organised, the work was to the highest standard, and it was all done with a smile on the face. The price was also highly reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Finbarr and his excellent team.

He quoted, organised scaffolding and finished on time and to budget. He was punctual, cheerful and is the first painter in twenty years to burn off the old paint and thus did a first class job.I cannot recommend him highly enough and in addition he has a great singing voice.

We have used Finbarr regularly for over 10 years, for interior and exterior decorating as well as for some small scale plastering work.
His rates are very competitive
He takes care and can take on some repairs of decorative plaster mouldings.
We recommend Finbarr to our neighbours and they have had similar good service.

We were particularly impressed by the job he made of lining/painting the high ceilings and original cornicing of our Victorian flat, and also by the excellent job he made of preparing and painting the walls throughout.
Finbarr is very reliable, completely trustworty and was dedicated soley to our job for its duration. Further, he gave a competitive quote which he stuck too. He is flexible and was willing to work at weekends in order to get the job done.
Finbarr has a direct, no-nonsense approach, which means you always know exactly what needs to be done, how long it will take etc. He is also very friendly and has a good sense of humour too. We would certainly recommend him.

I feel we were fortunate to find Finbarr who gave us a competitive all-inclusive quote and was able to start the job quickly. His standard of workmanship was very high and he worked around several other tradespeople working at the property at the same time without complaint. As well as being very professional he was a pleasure to have around the house and we will definitely be using him when we come to paint the exterior of the house. I would recommend him without hesitation.

He was upfront with an all-in quote, and clear and straightforward about his availability. He came when he said he would and finished the job on time. I was impressed that he took a real interest in doing the job well, fixing a long crack in the ceiling at no extra charge and taking care on filling, smoothing and other preparation of areas to be painted. He was happy to provide advice with a view to my getting value for money.
Overall I can warmly recommend Finbarr and will be using him on my house in the future.
Finbarr is also handy with recommendations - I have employed Kevin, who is an excellent, meticulous carpenter with real skill in design.

He did an excellent job outside and inside; the paintwork is still looking new and all at reasonable, affordable prices. He also supplied a carpenter, Kevin for some repair work to our staircase and to help him with putting up a new ceiling in the kitchen. He's cheerful to have around the house and happy to do a variety of decorating jobs- small and large and 100% reliable. We would definitely recommend him. His completed work invoved painting and the overhauling of sash windows , and external rendering with masonry paint . Internally he papered two rooms , and repaired and plastered the ceilings prior to decorating . All works were carried out to a professional standard , and at a competetive price .
