aspect.co.uk is dedicated to providing a high quality, fully comprehensive maintenance package both for residential, and commercial customers across London.
Services include plumbers, electricians,...
Have you used this tradesperson? Totally frustrating. We requested and were given a quote for a job. A plumber arrived and did some work. but the job was not completed. We had the cost of the complete job deducted from our credit card, even though the job was not done and the plumber attended for less than the time that had been estimated for. When I called to complain they said they would send someone else out. He came, looked at everything all over again but didn't actually make any repairs. Now I've been sent a new estimate as if it was for a completely new job. Our plumbing situation is WORSE than when we first contacted Aspect and we are nearly £500 out of pocket.

Reviewed by Sheila on February 3, 2012 Fantastic! I used Aspect for this first time this December past. The boiler stopped working on Boxing Day when we had a house full of family and friends. I called a few companies, but Aspect was able to attend within 2 hours of my call, and considering it was a bank holiday and they were promising to get to me so quickly, I did not think the rate they charged was that bad.
The bloke turned up within about an hour of my initial call and managed to get the boiler running within about half an hour. I then got an estimate the following day for replacing the faulty part. I found the whole process from booking to receiving my invoice by email an absolute pleasure.
I will definitely use again and recommend.

I have always found the staff to be both professional and polite. On site the job is well done and everything is left clean and tidy. They have run late once, but the office staff kept me up to date at regular intervals. The speed at which Aspect react is commendable and for this reason I find it very convenient as I have various tenanted properties in London.

Reviewed by Aileene on January 23, 2012 Shaby service My experience with Aspect has gradually worsened with every job i have them do. Engineers are ok but management is very bad. On the last job the engineer had two weeks notice but decided to check for availability of the parts the morning he was meant to come out! The didn’t have it and we got a call to be told so the time we were expecting him to come round. AS if we have nothing better to do but sit around for Aspect to pull their act together. I would go into the other slip ups but i would be doing Aspect too big a favour in doing so.

Reviewed by Constantinos Zegos on January 4, 2012 I recommend avoiding this company
I recently saw someone from Aspect Maintenance on the television bemoaning their inability to get credit to expand their “business” and was horrified at the prospect of them being able to do this. The incident that I had with them was a number of years ago but I wanted to add my voice to all the warnings about this company.
The problem that I had was with my boiler (a Keston) which had packed up. Being new to the area where I lived I found aspect on the internet and had them send an engineer round. The engineer himself said he knew nothing about Kestons but that he would “give it a go” which he proceeded to do taking 2 visits to have said go. I wish I had followed my instinct to tell him to leave and that I’d cal someone else but my mistake was to let him try. Needless to say the didn’t fix the problem as he diagnosed the wrong issue and I ended up having to call Keston themselves to send an engineer round to fix what he had done.
Regardless of this, an invoice duly arrived from aspect for around £300 which I put to one side and due to a serious family illness forgot about dealing with. They started calling and I explained that I didn’t think I should pay for the reasons above but they were having none of it and sent a bailiff notice round saying that if I didn’t pay within a certain period then the bailiffs would come in. At this point the family illness was so severe that I just paid it instead of risking the bailiffs and I had no appetite for a court case at that time.
Anyway, every time I see one of their vans I get a sick feeling in my stomach – to me this firm is nothing short of cowboys and bullies and I hope that this warning tale deters others from making the same mistake I did.

Reviewed by Mike on December 29, 2011 I hope Aspect maintenance is making notes of what customers are saying I have been a customer of Aspect Maintenance for 3 years. I called them 7 times so far for a range of plumbing, roofing, boiler and maintenance jobs. I stomach the labour charges because most of their tradesmen are professional and efficient.
Following a drainage job early in the month, a follow on (remedial work) was needed to replace a lead pipe in the bathroom. Aspects quoted £555 plus vat, a rather large sum that made me feel being done over a 70cm pipe that has a retail price of £25.00.
The replacement work was a bit tricky, nevertheless, not to justify such sum.
On discussing the quote with the operative referred to in my other feedback (A**), who apparently responsible for quotes and follow on works, I had an abrupt response from her to either take it or leave it. No attempt whatsoever to even humour this poor customer who kept using their services.
Marcus, the operative who did the initial job, was extremely good and knew exactly what to do so I reluctantly agreed the price and now the work is done, I am happy with it ….but extremely dissatisfied with the way Aspect Maintenance’s treat their customer…..well, ex-customers in my case as I would think twice next time before approaching them.

Reviewed by Kerr on November 28, 2011 Shockingly bad and potentially dangerous. Aspect came out to do two jobs - fit a gas pipe to the cooker and a boiler service.
The gas pipe to the cooker went well enough (well except them not having a part even though this is what we booked them for and charging me £54 to go to get the part from a shop 500 metres away which took 30 mins).
The second part was a boiler service. They needed to do some work so it took longer and cost more than hoped but we could live with that as we appreciate that you just don't know what is needed until the job is surveyed.
Unfortuanately despite charging over £500 for the work the boiler doesn't actually work. it makes terrible noises, water drips from it and we can't shut it off.
The boiler is worse for having the service done.
we have called and called to get some help but they don't seem interested at all.
We are probably going to have to pay for a new boiler to be fitted now.
Wouldn't use again.

As a returning customer I contacted Aspect having had a problem with the boiler. Paying the hourly rate of £90, the booking and engineer’s arrival was all good. The Engineer was good and knew exactly when he was doing (this is why I kept going back to Aspect as their operatives are professional and good). Within five minutes I was informed that I need a new board at a cost of £150 which I agreed to. What was annoying was being told that I have to pay for the engineer’s travelling time to get the part. I fully accept that operatives cannot drive around with every spare part in their vans; however, it was very unfair to charge customers for travelling time (in my case a 2 ½ miles journey took 45 minutes). I did explain to Aspect that I would accept flat fee charge (based on distance) but not the above. Challenging that, I had a call from an operative called A**(more feedback on this person’s lack of customer care basics as unfortunately I had to use aspect few days later for another matter) she was adamant that I should pay for travelling time and rejected my offer of flat fee. I ended up paying £330 for a job that would have cost me less than £200 if I chose the other two companies suggested by the website. Choosing Aspect was based on a good previous experience but following this experience and another job done two days later, I am of the view that some of Aspect’s office staff don’t value existing customers and just don’t care… So I don’t think they will hear from me again. For the record, the engineer for this job and my other one (plumbing) did a brilliant job, which is more than I can say about SOME office staff

Reviewed by Kerr on November 16, 2011 Terrible After calling for an emergency call out I was given assurances that they would be able to help drain my broken washing machine. After missing the plumber by 5 minutes, with no number to call, we then had to call the main call centre. We were then told told that the plumbers did not deal with washing machines, contradicting the advice we were given earlier. After a lengthy discussion they went on to explain that if the plumber did not want to come out to help us there was nothing they could do. My only conclusion is that sometimes decide to help you and others they don't. Do NOT rely on this service, they WILL let you down.

Reviewed by Nick on October 29, 2011 They promise a free visit and quote, then charge The tradesman came to inspect our boiler on a 'Free Quote' and 'Free Call-out' basis. I had given my debit card details to them on the basis that if the price was acceptable the work could go ahead. He inspected the boiler, said he couldn't repair it without the parts, and would supply an estimate. The estimate was over £700! for a new bypass valve. I told them not to go ahead.
I called the boiler manufacturer and desribed the fault. They said the fault was the switch diaphragm - cost £5. Local repair man fixed it in 10 minutes.
They charged my card in spite of me telling them not to. I have been told by Trading Standards that they are in the wrong and should repay the money, but after several weeks it is looking like I will have to take legal action. BE WARNED.

Reviewed by Martin Shippey on October 13, 2011 Incompetent and Fraudulent We hired Aspect for two jobs – one job (external wall re-rendering and associated repairs) we fully paid up without realising, until later, that one of the items was not even done (and directly caused substantial damp penetration into our internal wall a few months later); and the other job (electrical fan installations) exhibited a catalogue of errors including non-compliance to Part P of Building Regulations in regards to electrical installations (where their staff specified, installed and self-certified work that was clearly in breach of the Building Regs), and the work was also left incomplete and in a sub-standard condition. To add insult to injury they also caused further damage to our house through negligent workmanship. They subsequently then tried to pull the wool over eyes with regards to their incompetence and lack of services promised and demanded payment in full for the job. Despite our protestations that the work was not done properly they then ignored us for a year only to then come back and again and demand full payment (presumably because their accounts dept. had flagged it up when doing their year-end accounts). We withheld payment beyond the 40% deposit on the second job as they had failed to deliver on over half of what they were contracted to do, were clearly in breach of contract on several counts and the cost of rectifying the mess they had left was going to cost us far more than the remainder they claimed was still due on the account. Despite having repeatedly written to them on numerous occasions since they have neglected to answer satisfactorily the various reasons for their failure to deliver on what they had promised. Even although we have photographic evidence of incomplete and erroneous work in addition to written letters and e-mails where they clearly contradicted themselves in relation to what services they were providing and at what cost (note, another speciality of theirs is trying to add in extortionate extras once the work has begun on site). In addition, neither of the directors (Will Davies or Nick Bizley) will take or return phone calls in order to discuss your complaints. We are now in receipt of a letter from their Credit Controller threatening legal actions if the account is not settled. Aspect have displayed nothing but gross negligence, utter unprofessionalism and technical incompetence in the ‘services’ rendered. All they are interested in from the word go is the extraction of the most amount of money from customers while providing the minimum amount of service they think they can get away with (and in our case leaving a dangerous electrical installation with serious H & E implications). They arrogantly assume that they will be able to bully distressed customers into paying up when they inevitably fail to deliver and take no pride, care or responsibility in the end product service they provide. We would strongly recommend to never engage these con- artists ever under any circumstances for your own good. They will inevitably cut corners, add unwarranted extra costs into the job, fail to provide on previously given assurances (written or verbal) and will do anything to extract the most the most amount of money possible from clients. We were fooled by the fact that they appeared to be an above board company with proper contact details and a high public profile however nothing could be further from the truth and you will not get what you pay for from this company. We are writing this review to hopefully ensure that others will not fall prey to the same predatory and deceptive tactics this company routinely employs.

Therefore it has been refreshing to deal with Aspect, whom we have now used on a number of occasions over the last couple of years. Their engineers are always very professional and don't seem to mind me asking stupid questions when I'm trying to learn more about how everything works. Most recently they helped us with a number of issues that needed sorting out for our move into a new office and I really appreciate the effort they went to, not only with ensuring all of the wiring was safe as well as adding in some additional points, but also left everything very neat and tidy which was most refreshing. Likewise with the plumbing needed in the new office space, very impressed with the end result and I would definitely recommend them.

Reviewed by Bianca on May 25, 2011 horrific customer service... My wife and I called Aspect in late March, to fix a fault in the electrical system in our kitchen. A representative from Aspect showed up, spent a fair amount of time identifying the fault and informed us the problem was fixed. When, later that evening, the electrics began faulting again, we were not pleased to say the least. We called Aspect a few days later. The same electrician arrived and did carry out the work. The fault is in fact fixed. However, it was our understanding that we were not to be charged for this second visit. We were surprised, then, to receive a whopping £200 bill, for work which was improperly done the first time round. When we took up the dispute with Aspect, we were not only sent an unchanged invoice, but a 10% voucher for future work. Suffice to say, we will not be using it, ever, and our fight with Aspect continues. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY'S SERVICES.

Reviewed by Erik on April 19, 2011 Best service AAA+ Thanks Aspect This was my first experience with calling Aspect out on a job i needed fixing...and for me I was extremely satisfied.
The team at Aspect acted swiftly and professional in handling my issue.
My issue was as follows:
I had a crisis with my Triton shower at 7pm on a Saturday..As i was going out that night I couldn't relax or enjoy the evening knowing it wasn't working at all...Thinking my best /cheaper bet due to it being out of warranty by just 2 months was to buy a new one (at B and Q) on Sunday and get it installed. I thought by the time i paid for someone to try to fix it.. I'd probably end up having to buy one in the end and have double the costs...with no shower til at least Wednesday at most. Thinking of my options I thought... maybe a plumber could fix it ? I was hoping for someone to come out for Sunday or at least Monday but didn't hold my breath. I rang a few companies...and got "Errr can't til Tuesday or so"....but I applied on-line for an appointment with Aspect. Guess what.. they were the only ones that actually got back to me !! and did what they promised...with a great rate included. They fixed it swiftly and didn't do what other companies have done to me before..others try to prolong the time line of the job to get more fees per hour etc.... Aspect didn't do this to me. The plumber arrived at the time slot stated..and solve the issue...on a Sunday morning!!! He did a great job and was friendly and professional..and left no mess after doing the work. Now that is what i call service. I'm giving them 6 stars!! not 5 The customer service center and the plumber, made me feel like how customers used to be treated years ago.. something that is missing in a lot of companies today!! I think you know what i mean when i say that. So here's the deal for me for future issues i have in my home.. I will ONLY use Aspect - from now on... and that goes with recommending them to my friends and family members. More important to me.. and living in London for 20 years.. is the fact that finally I've found a company that goes that extra mile. Thank you for all those who work at Aspect..my shower is A+ again and I don't have to smell til Tuesday now. Cheers guys and gals :) Tom NW1 London

Reviewed by Tom V NW1 london on April 11, 2011 Judge Finds Aspect Maintenance's Work Substandard I contracted Aspect Maintenance to do some building work. They completely botched the job and caused damage. I had an independent contractor review the work and he found that Aspect had left my property in a dangerous state and the work that had been done did not comply with building regulations. I therefore refused to pay for the botched work. In response and for the last two years Aspect have sent me numerous debt collecting letters and threats to take me to court. We finally went to court a couple of weeks ago. The Judge found that the work Aspect Maintenance had done was clearly substandard and not done with reasonable skill and care and that Aspect Maintenance were indisputably in breach of contract. The Judge found in my favour and awarded me money for my losses, legal fees and other court costs.
So, my advice would be, don’t use Aspect Maintenance, I think they are real cowboy builders - charge high prices for unskilled, poor quality work, don’t do the work correctly and then send intimidating letters demanding payment if you are an unhappy customer!!

Reviewed by SW on March 30, 2011 Poor communication and denial of work promised in quote. I went for Aspect Maintenance to install a new boiler. Their engineer who came initially to place a quote assured me that the work can be done in a day i.e. hot water and heating would be up and running at the end of the day and the next day would be to complete any necessary decoration. He said the quote would include decoration as well as a break in the boxing from the current flue was required but this was an easy job to tidy up. On the day of the installation, I had previously asked for the engineer to arrive as early as possible as I would be late in to work and if they could get in before 8.30am would be great. No courtesy call was made that morning and I had to call up Aspect to check if the engineer was on his way. I was told he was but would be arrive at 9am. This was quite disappointing as I had hoped some communication could have been made if the engineer could not arrive by 8.30am. My request was clearly ignored. I left the house keys at a neighbour's to be picked up. At 12noon, the engineer calls to tell me he is leaving and that I would not have any hot water or heating that night as no spare parts were available until the next day and he was not prepared to work till late to get ensure heating was established that night. He informed me that the installation job was a 3-day job but he would complete in 2 days. So my home was left with no hot water or heating despite assurances that the job was straighforward. The next day, I checked on the engineer again and reminded him of the decorating work. He confirmed that the head office had told him decoration was not part of the quote. Also, on inspection, the quote included putting a thermoregulator on one radiotor but I did not see this on any radiators - will have to chase this with Aspect as well. This is not a reliable company and I feel they have gone againsy what was promised. I will definitely not use them for any future maintenance. I will dispute final payment with them as the work done was not a complete job.

I like the fact that there's always someone to answer the call, that there are people in the office to organise the jobs and that there are several plumbers that can do the job. A one man band might be cheaper, but they're difficult to get hold of and not always bookable at short notice. I prefer dealing with an organisation that is large enough to offer the additional services, but without losing the personal touch. Definitely recommended.

I asked Aspect to come out to clear drain blockage. They turned up over an hour late, and when I said I may not be able to wait they threatened to still debit my card if I was not in when they turned up. Then they debited my card over £300 for the 3-hours (when only there around 2-hours) , in which time their engineer looked at my drain and told me he couldn't clear it, although Thames Water came out free of charge and cleared the blockage in under 45-minutes using only rods.
When I raised this with Aspect, they choose not to respond.
In short, DO NOT USE ASPECT they provide a poor overpriced service, will not resolve the problem, and will not respond to any queries when they have got your money.

For the two larger projects the quality of work was exceptional - the standard of work completed was to the level the contractors would do on their own home.

Reviewed by Pete Clarke on June 23, 2009 You Get What You Pay For You'll probably find cheaper, but if you do then I doubt if they'll turn up exactly when they say they will, spend at least an hour cleaning up at the end of each day, or come back at 11pm on a Sunday to rectify a minor issue.
I use them for everything and would recommend them for anything.

Reviewed by Al Thompson on April 24, 2009 So expensive! If you want to pay over the odds for average work then these people wont disappoint!
The electrician's work was slow and because the company charge by the hour you can guarantee it will just go over the hour or 2 hour time period.
The customer service was rude and insulting.
I would not recommend this company.

Reviewed by simon on March 29, 2009 Aspect Maintenance They were absolutely hopeless. Failed to sort out my problem & then when I told them their work was unsatisfactory failed to keep 2 appointments. Turned up for the 3rd when it was pitch black so they couldn't do any thing. IMHO they are cowboys. Steer well clear.

Reviewed by Hazel Bird on November 8, 2008 I have used Aspect this weekend for a plumbing problem and found the service to be spot on! I experienced no problems with the service from the call centre or the plumber that literally saved our weekend being ruined!! Would definitely recommend them and would argue that the above was a one-off – especially if you’ve received good service as you state in the past – as Aspect was recommended from a friend – who has also used them before! Reviewed by Steve on October 27, 2008 My central heating was broken and after calling Aspect it was fixed with minimal fuss and at a cost I was happy with - would use them again. I have an overflow which is leaking and got an engineer to come and check. They charged me 230 pounds for about 2 hours work. The problem re-ocurred two hours after the engineer had left. When I called them they said that they would have to charge me again for the engineer to come as the problem was not related to the initial call. An absolute lie!
They obviously do not do their job properly so that you will have to pay for them to come back and finally fix it.
STAY AWAY!!!! Reviewed by Monica Moreira on March 27, 2008 I required to put 4 radiators of 6ft up . They quote me to include the carpentry frames needed for all four and the required replastering and sanding of the wall.
What they actually done was putting three radiators up build only 2 frames and one of the radiator they put up still is not working. No sanding has been done.#
After refusing to send someone to complete the job they charged my credit card minus a discount of 120 gbp ( from an invoice of 1700 gbp). According to them this discount cover three hours labour at a cost of 35 gbp plus vat. Problem is their hourly rate is closer to one hundred pound and certainly, it will cost me more than 120 gbp to finish their botched job. Any attempt to dicussed the problem with them has been ignore by them.
These people are dishonest! stay clear from them if your value your money. Reviewed by GAELLE PETIT on January 9, 2008 I've used Aspect many times now, and they are a great resource. They have done big jobs and small jobs for us and they've always been fairly priced (though handyman services are cheaper for smaller jobs). Particularly notable is their excellent phone and pre-quote service and very good response times.
The only thing I would criticise is Aspect's joinery - it's actually carpentry. They are fine for basic sash windows or hanging standard doors, disappointing if you want a really quality job (ie matching existing woodwork or having cabinets made from scratch). Please hire yourselves a good craftsman joiner Aspect! Reviewed by West London on January 8, 2008 Extremely professional and a very friendly service.
