Dave first worked for me in 1995 when he re-roofed a large family house in south London. It was a masterpiece. I have used him on two other houses since and have recommended him widely to friends who've been just as impressed. .He is professional, clever, friendly, excellent value and as good as his word. The best.

We used Dave on our old house and then moved last summer to a house with a lot more roof. It needed some urgent repair work on it and in Dave’s absence (a two week holiday) I called in another roofer. I wish that I had waited. We got charged a fortune for shoddy work and the guy didn’t turn up to finish it off or to issue the guarantees – it was one of those experiences that makes you highly wary of tradesmen. I got Dave back in to finish off the jobs that the dodgy roofer was supposed to have done (he also went back and replaced the other guy’s misfit new tiles with existing tiles so that our roof didn’t look like a patchwork quilt) and also to replace some guttering and to give me an opinion on the state of our various bits of roof. In an industry where there are many people out there to rip you off, Dave will always try to fit you in, no matter how small the job; he turns up when he says he will; does the job that he’s come for; takes and shows/sends you the before and after photos so that you can see what’s what for yourself; and, he definitely honours his commitments. I am very reluctant to use tradesmen that have not been recommended by friends. However, out of desperation, I surfed the net and found this website. I was a bit sceptical when I saw the number of positive reviews that NGSC had as I thought that no one can be that good. Having dealt with Dave, I can understand why the reviews are great. Not only is the quality of his work brilliant, but he is a really nice man. He put me at ease the minute he walked through the door. We had a large flat roof that was leaking. Dave returned our call asap and made an appointment to take a look. He came out and immediately gave us a date when he could start the work. He sent us a proper itemised quote a few days later. Dave and his son started the day they said they would and were a joy to work with. They are tidy, friendly and professional. NGSC roofing were recommended by a friend. We had a leak in a bedroom which we suspected was coming from the roof but not 100% sure. Dave spotted a few possible reasons for the leak but what I liked was his honesty - he didn't do a hard sell that we had to replace the front roof. However, we decided to and, touch wood, leak has stopped. Really nice guys, polite and reliable. I also feel I can easily contact Dave again if we do get any problems. Definitely to be recommended.

I am writing this review now because I was not aware that NGSC Roofing belonged to a site where reviews on their work could be made. They are an excellent firm who on friendliness, price, workmanship and important to me honesty, is second to none. Past experience with workmen have made me weary of simply giving the job to just anyone, whether they purport to be Rolls Royce firms or otherwise. And before I chose NGSC I interviewed at least 40 roofers, and have not regretted the decision on price or workmanship even after all these years. At least two other home owners have asked me who replaced my roof and have gone on to use NGSC Roofers and have been very satisfied with their workmanship. Following the theft of the lead flashing covering the Butterfly Tennis Clubhouse earlier this month, Dave came on a recommendation to replace the lead with less valuable (and less removable) ridge tiles. I have used Dave on a number of occasions now and have always been happy with his work and his friendliness. Most of the jobs have been relatively small and other builders/roofers have just not been interested. Dave has always been prepared to come round, give a quote and has then fitted the jobs in, usually very quickly. I have always been pleased with the results and with the bill! I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Following other companies attempts to fix a leaking skylight following recent heavy rain, Dave was recommended to me. I asked him to look at the skylight and other areas of the roof that seemed to need repair. He was very thorough and spent a long time on the roof taking photos as he went and invited me to climb the ladder so he could show me exactly what work was needed. This seemed much more professional than other roofers who gave me a quote without even going on to the roof! This level of honesty, care and attention to detail made us decide to give him the job and he was able to fit in the work within a reasonable amount of time. With the help of his sons, he managed to get all the work done within one day - repairing and extending flashings on walls, flash-banding on skylight, re-pointing ridge capping, renewing guttering, and replacing cracked tiles. He even did some extra pointing and tile repairs as he had materials and time left (but still charged the original quoted price!) When we got home, everything was clean and tidied so you wouldn't have known he had been there - Except for the many photos of the roof emailed through that evening that showed Dave and his family hard at work and the repairs that he had carried out that day! Again, a really professional touch that showed what an honest and trustworthy tradesman he is! Of course, I'm hoping that there will not be need for future work on the roof, but if there is, Dave at NGSC would definitely be the first person I phone.

During the bad rain in early july we suddenly had rain pouring into our au pairs room which has a flat roof. After a few days of collecting the waterfall in buckets we found dave through the recommendation of a work colleague. The next day he was at our house, coaxing me up a ladder to assess the problem together. He gave us a very reasonable quote and agreed to do the work the next day, weather permitting. All the work was completed the next day and thankfully no more leaks despite all the rain we've had since. a few days later they sent us some photos of them at work on the roof and the finish fixed roof, which i thought was a nice touch. if we have any more problems with out roofs in future they'd be the first company i'd phone...

Dave and his son recently carried out extensive repair and maintenance of the front of our 4-storey Victorian property. We recently used N.G.S.C. roofing to re-do the entire length of the top of our crumbling parapet wall. While they were up there, they replaced some dodgy slates around our skylight; made another window water-tight; re-rendered a missing patch from the other parapet wall; checked and swept our gutters; removed debris from our snow guards and re-pointed a section of wall that no other roofer was prepared to venture too without copious amounts of scaffolding (NB. the neatest pointing I’ve ever seen!). Dave was exceptionally informative and helpful prior even to being given the job and took before and after photos of everything we, as the clients, needed to see. He and his team were punctual, reliable, extremely professional; took a huge amount of pride in their work; did a great looking job; and, were extremely friendly and easy to have around. Dave and his team replaced our roof. The work was completely faultless, efficiently and tidily executed. They are absolutely conscientious, punctual, polite and trustworthy. It is unusual to find a company you can recommend so unhesitatingly.

I would thoroughly recommend this family business. Dave's son and nephew did an extremely good job tiling our roof last summer despite terrible weather conditions. The price was very reasonable - cheaper than their nearest local competitors. The whole family were charming to deal with and everything was carefully arranged with us before hand so that we knew what to expect. They stuck to their schedule despite the weather and were very accomodating when we decided to get some velux windows fitted. Overall it was a very rewarding experience and we felt extremely lucky to have found them. They have also just been round (a year later) to fix a gutter that had come unclipped. They came the day after we mentioned it to Dave and charged us nothing. Good people!

I called Dave out to inspect my roof as a leak had showed up on the ceiling and wall since decorating my bedroom. It was a free call out and Dave came round the same day as I called him. He arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem - he even took some pictures on his camera to show me what was wrong. This is an excellent thing because you can actually see the problem for yourself. Dave came to do the quote on the Monday afternoon, which was an extremely reasonable price, and even though he was off on holiday in a few day's time he organised for his son and nephew to come round and do the work for me on Wednesday of the same week. The guys turned up on time and were here for most of the day - they even showed me some more pictures of the roof after the work had been completed. It was actually a pleasure making tea for these guys! Since returning from holiday, Dave has contacted me and has very kindly emailed me a copy of the invoice for the work carried out. But even more importantly, the damp patched on the ceiling and wall are drying out. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. Thanks guys!

Dave and son came and cleaned out all the gutters around my home, carried out minor repairs such as pointing on the chimney stacks and party walls. They got the job done and cleaned up afterwards. I have used Dave from NGSC over a period of years and he has carried out jobs ranging from blocked gutters and slipped tiles through to a complete new roof. NGSC Roofing has just completed some works for me on my back edition roof. They completely re-newed the roof and unblocked my front gutters for me. I was recommended to use NGSC by a close friend who will only have her roof looked at by dave. (Owner of NGSC) I can totally see why, NGSC were very efficient and extrememly hard working, they knew what they were doing and just got on with it. NGSC, completely renewed my roof in the summer of last year, they provided me with a free call out, upon which they offered me a reasonable price, and start/finish dates. They were very reliable and considerate of mine and my families needs, they also kept to there original price and finished the work two days prior to there predicted time. Upon completion of my roof, I was provided with a data Cd which contained a photo diary of my roof day by day, from start to finish.
