 | AVC (Wireless Networks) Ltd AVC House Bessemer Drive STEVENAGE Hertfordshire SG1 2DT
Local professional installation of aerial and satellite systems.
Have you used this tradesperson? Time Wasters This company have visted my house four times ( add a visit by Sky themselves = 5 and there has to be a least one more to actually to the job = 6) and each time they have refused to get on my roof, each time claimed the call has been booked out wrong, each time done nothing on basis of H&S and not being booked out correctly(despite having clarified this each time i made a call.) Each time charged Sky for work they did not do. Lazy, agressive, knuckle dragging heavies who are only interested in doing as little as possible. Sky are now having to compensate me for the the 6 month of scandleous service I have received. I would not reccomend letting the cowboys in your house.

Reviewed by Halina Khan on September 28, 2010 2nd example of how badly this company is run The first installer looked as though he'd just been released from prison - apparently he's the MD's son. The first 7 words out of his mouth were 'can't'. No care over plants etc., and he left having not insatlled the cabling, which was coiled up in a flower bed. He half drilled a hole, and left without saying anything, leaving a mess, and reported 'job done' on his work ticket apparently.
6 weeks later, I book a visit from AVC, and take a half day's holiday. No-one showed, and no-one called.
Are you listening to me, and others Mr CEO AVC? I am going to make it my mission for you to lose your Sky contract, and will be scouring the net for other disgruntled customers so they are aware that you are serious brand damage.

Reviewed by oliver comyn on June 22, 2010 Where the hell are they Booked with Sky for a HD Upgrade, was told engineer would call me by 9am. No called so called Sky to be told that my morning appointment was now an afternoon appointment. Asked to speak to the company doing the installation - AVC Ltd. Phoned AVC to be told their systems are down and they have no way of knowing which engineer is supposed to be coming to my home and they would call me back in an hour. Never received a phone call, am no closer to getting my Sky HD upgrade. Sky are useless and the companies they choose to use are also useless. Yet another customer lost

Reviewed by Nowis on March 14, 2010 They didnt show up, no excuse. Again. same as the other reviewers: booked to come on a specific day to upgrade to sky HD, took the day of of work, they didn't call in the morning to say what time they were going to call, and when i phoned to chase it they just said that they couldnt do it today now. lazy workmen. this compounds the time when they installed sky originally. they arrived, said 'i'm just going downstairs to get my ladder' and never came back!!! Sky gets to choose who represents them as tradespeople and they have chosen to use these cowboys. nice work sky. one customer lost.

Reviewed by n quince on February 21, 2010 Repair work of botched Sky installation. To cut a long story short...
Over 4 hours on the phone.
12 noted calls (they were more that I didn't jot down in my diary) from AVC not returned, including 3 from the head of customer services.
AVC unwilling to reimburse me for my time & travel costs to the property to inspect job (a let property in a different part of the country to where I live), and the cost of the bricks I sourced for them (I was asked to source the bricks by AVC to save them time and hence money).
The job was carried out to an acceptable standard folloinwg asking the bricklayer to reset the bricks twice (he couldn't get them in a straight line).
I could have had the brickwork repaired myself for £50 with no phone calls but was advised not to by Sky.
I recommend when you have the option, get a quote yourself, present this to Sky and save yourself some time.

Reviewed by Karl Roscoe on July 1, 2009 Satellite Dish Repair I reported to Sky a break-up of picture on my two TV sets. Having failed to correct the problem through Sky's technical help line procedure, it was agreed SKy's technical team that the fault lay with the satellite dish rather than the Sky Plus box. I duly received a service call from an AVC engineer, who replaced a part on the satellite dish (apparently the incoming signal was weak). He then came into my house to reset my TV set and then left. I went on holiday that evening for a couple of days and only upon my return, when wanting to watch a programme recorded on Sky Plus did I realise that, unbeknown to me, the engineer had replced the Sky Plus box WITHOUT my permission. This has resulted in several hours of unseen footage being lost. I have contacted AVC who have informed me that its engineers have a discretionary brief that they can do anything to correct a fault. One thing is certain however, they do not train their staff to advise the customer the consequences of removing the Sky Plus box. AVC said that it sent the 'faulty' box back to a Sky warehouse, but has no internal system to trace the box once it has left its premises. In essence, an AVC engineer has entered my house (WITH my permission) and taken away property WITHOUT my permission. I call it theft, AVC disagrees - I will leave it up to others to be the judge!!

Reviewed by Henry Langer on June 22, 2009 SKY HD Box repair Had no call from engineer in advance advising of expected ETA, so took the whole day off work. There had been no call from engineer by 3pm and no knock on the door! Decided to call Sky who advised that apparently the engineer had signed off the work as completed. Despite another two phone calls directly to AVC Wireless Networks Ltd, I am still no nearer in finding out what has happend?!?

Reviewed by Richard Goodacre on June 9, 2009 Replace SKY HD Box Within an hour and a half of leaving we were left with the same problem as when they arrived (HD box would not do anything but stay on standby). Phoned SKY, they said a message had been left with the engineers who were still in the area, they would contact me and come back - never had a call. Phoned SKY at 7pm, after a bit of pressure we had a call back Fri morn to say the same engineers would be back between 8am and 1pm Sat, it is now 2pm they are still not here, the office phone is not being answered but SKY claim to have contacted them and they have been held up and should be here by 3pm - why did they not phone and let me know. I give the same advice as Claudia - DO NOT USE THIS BUNCH OF MUPPETS.

Reviewed by Andy Smith on January 31, 2009 I had a call out from an inexperienced installer on Sunday.
All he had to do was reconnect my tv, as I moved it slightly.
After arriving late, he then said he did not have the correct ladders, which is ridiculous, due to the fact I live in a bungalow.
I offered him a ladder and he said no he cannot use someone else's ladder.
He then said he would have to drill holes into my brickwork to secure his ladder. He the packed up and left me with a lounge in disarray and no TV.
He was rude and to save himself he said he could not move my connection because we had it previously installed with an independent installer, which was not true only sky have had access to my property.
All in all, I still do not have a TV signal and I am still very irritated.
Please do not use them. Reviewed by Claudia Briggs on September 15, 2008
