  • Roof Revive
Roof Revive undertook work to our conservatory before last winter and I wanted to wait until the weather extremes had been experienced before writing any review - the work is probably the best investment we have made in recent years - last winter the conservatory was another room of the house - not cold or uncomfortable - in the current heat wave, the conservatory is a joy to enter - and this roof faces south so previously it was more than un-pleasant - cannot recommend enough - oh and the guys who installed the system were excellent leaving the conservatory ceiling for decoration.

From the sales point through to installation, Roof Revive were very professional, I could not be happier with the standard of work and would not hesitate to recommend this solution to anyone with a conservatory.

An extremely efficient two person team completed the installation in a day (after the reflective film was put up the day previously). Excellent workmanship by all concerned AND they left the site clean and tidy. The insulation provided now allows our conservatory to be used all the time instead of when its either not too hot or cold. Thanks Roof Revive.

  • Excellent job !
I can really recommend this company. They transformed a conservatory which was too cold to sit in in Winter and far too hot in warm weather into an all year round room. The heat from the radiator now heats the room instead of going out through the roof and though I have not been through a Summer with the system yet on warm days I noticed that while still pleasantly light you are not plagued with glare and overheating. The adviser, Angela, was very nice and informative without being pushy and arranged for me to see a completed job and talk to the customer. The installers Andy and Liam were very good - polite and professional and nothing was too much trouble for them. The finished job looked great and everything was left very tidy. All round, it has been a really worthwhile improvement and they were great people to deal with.

  • Believe the hype!
Our conservatory had been almost unusable to us from around October to March. Even with an oil fired radiator on full, it took hours to warm up and the heat quickly dissipated through the roof. We made enquiries with a builder about insulating the roof- not possible he said. He suggested switching to a glass roof to gain some improvement and quoted £6000 for the job. So when we saw the roof revive ad, it seemed too good to be true. We are indebted to customers who posted on this site in convincing us that it was worth the gamble and had the system installed on what was probably the coldest day of the winter. The fitters were just as good as evereyone says, working non stop throughout a truly freezing day and insisting on thoroughly cleaning up afterwards. The heat difference was obvious immediately, delivering exactly as promised, and it seems remarkable that the light loss is so minimal too. The unexpected bonus for us was the aesthetic difference it has made to the room- the plastered ceiling, painted white, has created the feel of an actual room that really extends the living area of the house throughout the year. A few posters on this site have quibbled about the high cost, but given the excellent results delivered and the fact that we had already tried and failed to find another solution to the heat loss, we consider the money we spent on the roof revive system to be well worth it.

Two very good workers who insulated a conservatory roofing area of 35 sq meters in 2 days. Recent snow on our neighbour's conservatory has melted whilst ours remain, indicating that the insulating properties are working. Have to wait for summer to see if the same can be said for keeping it cool. Loss of light is more than the 10% quoted but no real problem. Could not see how the costs of labour and materials justified the final price but overall am pleased I had it installed.

  • Works far better than I expected
I have a large north facing orangery style conservatory which so far has been closed up every year from October to February (ish). I received a flyer from Roof Revive Co Ltd and after a visit from their surveyor decided to go ahead, despite being very sceptical about whether their claims would prove to be justified. I was probably swayed by the number of excellent reviews on this site. Andy & Liam turned up on the appointed day and completed the work by lunchtime the second day, it having been too dark at around 3pm on the previous afternoon to start the plastering (it was done in the middle of January). They were extremely tidy and efficient. The look of the job and the finish of the plasterwork is absolutely perfect, and it has enhanced the appearance of the room no end. And despite my initial scepticism it works!! We have now had several nights where the temperature has fallen below zero (last night reached -6), and the room is now just as warm as the rest of the house. I have been using it all evening with just the 2 radiators on the central heating system providing the heat (whereas before if I could use it at all I needed 2 extra electric radiators). I can leave the doors open at night, and in the morning its been just as warm as the rest of the house. And whilst its too early to tell for sure, I think the heating usage is down because heat from the house isn't being wasted in a vain attempt to keep the conservatory warm. If I ever were to move to a new house with a conservatory, the first thing I'd do would be to get Roof Revive in. I have no adverse criticisms at all (and that is very unusual for me!). Perfect job - thanks very much!

  • A more impressive innovation than expected
We have a large double glazed conservatory which is westerly facing and opens in to our kitchen. We had the Roof Revive installation in August 2011 but I have held off reviewing until the winter as our need was more of heat conservation rather than cooling. With the cold snaps in January 2012 the heat from the radiators has been retained and the conservatory has been comfortable to sit in with the Sunday papers when bright but chilly outside. Similarly in the evening with the blinds down it is just like any other room in the house. We like the ambience the vaulted roof gives and much more stylish than the glazing bars that are standard with conservatories. We appreciated being able to visit another client of Roof Revive to see an installation and hear independently how the roof and company had performed. They were very complimentary and helped us finalise our decision to go ahead. Installation was without any fuss and the two installers did not stop throughout the two days and were courteous and tidy. The plaster dried out within a couple of days and we were able to emulsion and complete the job in a weekend. Recommended.

  • Fantastic Product, amazing service and installation!
We have a south facing garden with a large conservatory on the back which we inherited from the previous owners of the property. We were using the conservatory as a family room/playroom as it is open plan off the kitchen. Unfortunately it was far too hot and far too bright, even in february on a sunny day the children wouldn't play in the room, it was very frustrating! We then found roof revive. I rang for a rough estimate expecting it to be extortion but it was a good price. They came to quote and I was waiting for a problem to arise, it seemed too good to be true, but it was fine. They came to install on a thursday starting at lunch time and finished the following lunch time. The two men who came to fit the roof were fantastic, very easy to have around and very tidy. They even offered to mop my floor. I have two small children and they were very good with them and consious of at risk things on the floor when they left for the day. They communicated timings that they would arrive and finish on both days and you could have set your clock by them! The product has been amazing, it's as if we have had an extension. We are in the room all the time and people can't believe they are sitting in a conservatory with a polycarb roof. Problems with temperature, brightness and noise have all been fixed with this product and on the inside the finish is perfect. We love it and are thrilled with the beautiful new room it has given us. Thank you for the most hassle free work we've had done!

there are two things that I am accused of being, frugal (not usually that word) and very sceptical about the so called claims that many companies put on there websites, so it took long time to decide to have this system fitted. However simply it works, we have used the conservatory as an extra room this winter where it was too cold in previous winters, I have reduced the heaters in the room and am extremely pleased with the roof. I am a chartered engineer, and would recommend this company anytime. It's simple, well executed and fitted and has given us the use of our conservatory That we always wanted.

  • They were *not* Liam and Donal from Ballykissass....
It was Liam and Andy that appeared at the alloted time and proceeded to transform the conservatory roof with inner insulation and plaster-board. They worked diligently and professionally. The conservatory is effectively a garden room with lots of mobile plants, so the bulkier triffids were moved around as the work advanced. The smaller plants had been transferred to the garden, so it was most welcome that the likely lads stated they would work until they had completed the job. They kept their word and after helping to restore the plants they left at 8PM; a twelve-hour working day, excluding the not insubstantial journey time. I'm labouring this because I thought this type of work ethic had long since vanished; well done boys. As to the efficacy of the conversion, only time will tell. I'll report back when I have gathered sufficient data.

For 6 years we had suffered the glare and excessive heat of the summer and the contrast of freezing unusable room in the winter. Catching the tail end of the summer, the impact was immediately felt, we were able to enjoy the comfort of the room being a cool acceptable temperature and without having to wear sunglasses. As we enter the autumn and colder weather, previously in the morning the room would be like a freezer, now we have a warm room that is getting far more use. The fitting of the system took the day, the fitters were friendly, working throughout and to a high standard. The fitters sheeted the room, to protect it and the adjoing room from the spread of dust. All round a good job and very worthwhile, if only we had done it sooner....

At last, we can use our Conservatory whatever the temperature outside. We have been able to sit in there when it was 30 degree outside and freezing . We have a Garden Room now and have found it worth buying a new TV to watch whilst in there. Our sitting room has been somewhat relegated to a Parlour. Roof Revive have lived up to their promises. All the employees we dealt with were very professional. The guys who did the roof were superb. They worked solidly all day, left the place spotlessly clean and were very good humoured. We would recommend this innovative work without hesitation. We have added value to the house, have a room we can really use now whatever the weather and are able to enjoy what was always our favourite room but were very restricted before Roof Revive did its magic! We had to get used to the change and to less light but are used to it now and it is so nice to be able to enjoy a sunny day without getting heat stroke from above!!!We used reflective white paint on the ceiling and that has been very effective too. Thank you, Roof Revive! We love the difference you made. It is brilliant. We were very nervous we might be making a mistake but couldn't be more pleased.

Martin and Billy arrived on the thursday evening and were finished friday tea time, was very impressed with quality of work, sunday evening we had an unmerciful shower of rain i stood in my conservatory no noise, told my husband to come and hear, as we are all open plan he said he could hear from the sofa "no noise", i reckoned it was a miracle, no dreadful heat fom the sun overpowering the kitchen i now can open my double doors, thrilled to bits!!!

  • As a family we use our conservatory all year round despite the heating problems and cost in the winter. I searched for two years for a solution to the usual conservatory problems. I even considered having a tiled roof built to replace the polycarb one but the planning and building regs problems scuppered that. The cost of replacing the conservatory with a new sun room is currently out of my financial reach. Then I happened across Roof Revive Co Ltd's web site whilst doing my regular research for solutions. It appeared to be the answer I was looking for. I checked with my local building control department and they told me there would be no problems from a building reg's or planning point of view. A quick e-mail resulted in a survey and installation in very quick time. The two lads who installed it were knowledgable, professional, and friendly. They left the site clean and all rubbish was removed. That was only a couple of weeks ago but i have already noticed a difference in temperature stability between day and night and during some recent heavy rain I could hardly hear it compared to the 'sitting inside a drum' effect I was used to. The improvement in interior appearance is terrific. It looks like a 'proper room' now. Part of the house and not just an add on. It is still early days but my initial feelings are positive. I am very happy with my 'new' conservatory and look forward to seeing how much more comfortable it will hopefully be in the winter. I hope to be able to post a more informed positive review here in a years time.

I was a bit dubious when the wife wanted this done as I didn't think it would work, however as I have no say whatsoever in the house improvements, we proceeded with the installation. Thank God I have no say as this is the best improvement we have done to the house. Prior to getting this installed the conservatory was almost unusable due to being too cold in winter months, too hot in summer months and too noisy with the usual rain downpours. The difference since has been superb, with the result that instead of watching sports on the big TV in the living room, I have installed a TV on conservatory wall and watch all TV though there. The living room is now pretty much redundant as the conservatory is where we spend all of our time now. System that good that I have already recommended to two work colleagues and they are going ahead. I certainly wouldn't have recommended if I had any doubts at all about the system. Must say thanks to Dave (Sales) and to the installation guys Martin & Billy , who were really nice, friendly guys and did a superb job. These guys are a credit to Roof Revive.

Our conservatory was too hot when it was sunny, and far too cold during the winter. We stumbled across this company by accident when looking for tile repairs, and are very glad we did. The installation was surprisingly swift, only a day, and we could tell straight away that the room was much more insulated. We do feel we have lost more light than the 5% quoted, but feel that the trade-off is well worth it, as we are no longer pouring heat out through the roof. The subsequent sunny days have proved that the conservatory is now very comfortable indeed, and we no longer notice the cold in the mornings. Would recommend.

On the positive side the work carried out was done well and the two lads were very courteous and professional. However there were some communication problems as the installation team had me down for a date that had not been communicated to me. In addition on arrival the guys were unaware that I had a wooden conservatory and were not aware of the requirement to follow the line of the roof to the central beam - it appears that the survey findings were not communicated properly. My initial feeling on the amount of light loss suggest that it is much more than 5% and the knock on effect to the next room is certainly apparent however the ceiling has not yet been painted so this may improve. Cannot make any comment as yet on the insulation benefits as the job has only just been completed.

The process following the sale was also excellent, scheduling etc, very well executed. The guys turned up to do the work very early, work appeared to be done very well, guys left the conservatory quite dirty but that may have been my expectation and had this been the only problem then I wouldnt be even mentioning it. THe job was very rushed i.e completed in a day but scheduled for 2 and on the surface it looked good. However after we had painted you can see that the finish isnt as good as hoped. After raising this with Roof Revive we were told someone would visit w/c 1st August - no one turned up. No replies to calls etc. Sent an email in and we got a response and agreed a visit on the 22nd August, this happened and it was agreed that the finish wasnt upto the high standards promised by roof revive and it would be corrected. Date scheduled for 30th August 2011 for the work to be corrected. No one turned up. I suppose the good thing for me is I havent paid yet and wont be doing until the work is complete. The plasterboarded roof has turned our conservatory into a fully usable room, reducing the peak daytime Summer temperature by c10 degreesC and increasing the minimum overnight temperature - so far - by about 5C, reducing the spread between min/max from c35C to about 20C. Glare has been hugely reduced with no noticeable reduction in light and the noise from rain vastly reduced. If we see the same improvement over Winter months with a rise in minimum overnight temperature it will have fulfilled everything we hoped it would. The installers arrived on time, worked hard, cleaned up after them and were a pleasure to have at the house. The only downside was the recommendation of a Dulux light-reflective paint which was difficult to apply and we wished we had just gone for matt emulsion. Nevertheless, I would recommend this system to anyone.

  • We had previously tried other methods to control the temperature in our conservatory such as roof blinds and roof inserts, which did not work, so we were a bit sceptical about another system. However, having taken the plunge in March 2011, we are completely satisfied. In cooler weather it stays warmer and even on the hottest days it is a pleasant temperature. Any rain noise is minimal and it now looks like an extension to the house rather than a shabby plastic roof. We now spend a lot more time in the conservatory and would highly recommend Roof Revive Co Ltd.

They laid sheeting in the conservatory and the decking to ensure everything was kept clean, neat and tidy. The job looks super and we are looking forward to getting much more use out of our conservatory in the future. It's early days to know exactly how great the benefits are, btu already the glare of the sun makes walking in to the room a more pleasurable experience. Two grat guys, and one great system.

We have a very large consevatory leading off from our kitchen, however recent very cold winters meant we were unable to use the space for a couple of months a year, unless we ran an electric fire as well as the Central heating all day. we spotted Roof Revive in the newspaper, had a delightful visit from Derrick Younger, who gave us all the information required, and a very competitive quote. The work was carried out very efficiently and cleanly by Barry and Steven. We have already noticed it's quieter (we live near a busy road), considerably less rain noise, and the room strikes warm early morning (we had frosts recently)and in the evenings. We now looking forward to being able to use the space 12 months of the year. We are extremely pleased with this company's product and services, and would happily recommend them.

  • Installation of conservatory roof insulation.
Job completed in one day; not the tidiest of workers but overall installation was satisfactory although some cracking has occured in the plaster at the ridge since installation, decorators caulk should fix this. Overall I am very impressed with the performance of the product in the six weeks since installation. Rain noise has virtually disappeared and the extremes of temperature have gone. On a sunny day we no longer get in excess of 35 degress (the limit on the thermostat). We opted for bronze tinting on the gable end as we could not easily refit the blinds. The tinting has proved very effective at reducing glare. Too early to say how effective the insulation will be in winter, but so far no heating required in conservatory, no lower than 18 degrees at 10.00pm any night since installation, even in the frozen north!. However on the performance so far I am confident it will reduce conservarory heating costs and give us an extra room all year round. Well worth the cost. Recommended.

How nice to be able to congratulate a company on an excellent job. From the first contact with this company, everyone did what they said they would efficiently and on time. We own a very large conservatory, which was underused, being either too hot or too cold for most of the year. This system has solved a really big problem, as is already obvious. It has insulated the entire roof, reducing the lighting very little, and, at less cost has eliminated the need for messy and dust trapping blinds. The work force were a pleasure to have around, working quickly, causing very little mess and were helpful and considerate. It is a real pleasure to recommend this company.

Excellent workmanship, completed in a day, no mess. Will pay for itself in heating costs as we hardly need the heater on now. (usually on 24/7 in winter), no cold drafts when we open the adjoining door so makes it more of an included space. Biggest bonus is reduction in noise, as we live next to a Motorway, the reduction is amazing, can no longer hear it raining either. The work carried out by the friendly installers was done very efficiently and cleanly and the whole look is now most attractive and does certainly feel warmer, even in this extreme cold weather we are experiencing now; there is certainly a more room like feel to the place.
